Climate Changed: A Personal Journey Through The Science
By Philippe Squarzoni
Abrams Books, 2014
This graphic novel is a fascinating approach to climate change discourse. It traces Squarzoni’s process of learning about the politics of climate change by weaving together his scientific research, interview data, and personal reflection. Although he comments on environmental policy and government tactics to combat climate change, Squarzoni provides a balanced view of the magnitude of the climate crisis. His approach is careful, his writing is thoughtful, and his illustrations are beautiful. Even though much has changed – politically, economically, and socially – since the novel was written, it remains useful and applicable. A bonus: it’s printed on FSC-certified paper from responsibly managed, environmentally sound sources. - HH
